Instagram Order: Wrong UTR

If you entered the wrong UTR for an Instagram follower order, do not pay again straight away. First confirm the payment status in your UPI app, find the correct transaction reference, then ask support to check the original order.

The short answer

Do not repeat the payment because you typed a UTR incorrectly. The live store terms say an order remains a request until payment is confirmed against its UTR. If the reference you entered does not identify the payment, support may need to check the original transaction.

Keep the payment in your UPI app, locate its exact UTR, and contact support using the original order reference. If you cannot find that reference, use the correct public Instagram profile link requested by the support form. Wait for a check before creating another order.

Check the payment status first

Start with the transaction screen in the UPI app you used. A wrong UTR in the store form and a pending or failed bank transaction are different problems.

What the UPI app showsWhat to do next
Successful or completedOpen that exact transaction and copy its UTR. Contact store support if the order is not matched.
PendingDo not assume the store has confirmed payment. Check the transaction status in your app and follow its instructions.
Failed or reversedCheck the transaction details and balance in your bank or UPI app. Do not submit another store order until you know whether a debit remains.
You cannot find the paymentReview transaction history for the date and amount. If it is still unclear, ask your payment provider to trace it.

A store order page and a bank transaction screen report different things. The UPI payment guide explains where the store asks for the UTR during checkout.

Find the correct UTR

Use the reference shown inside the transaction that paid for this order, not a UTR from another payment. The current checkout asks for a 12-digit UTR, so copy it from the completed transaction details and compare every digit before you send it.

  1. Open transaction history in the UPI app you used.
  2. Select the payment with the matching recipient, amount, and date.
  3. Open its details and find the transaction reference or UTR.
  4. Compare the amount and recipient with the checkout you intended to pay.
  5. Keep a screenshot or record for your own reference, with unrelated personal details hidden.

Do not guess a reference, reuse one from another order, or alter digits to make it fit. Never share a UPI PIN, bank password, one-time code, or login approval. Support needs the transaction reference, not permission to access your payment account.

Contact support with the right details

If the payment app shows a successful debit but the store has not matched it, open the support form and select Payment not credited. The form asks for an email address, an order number or link, and a description of what happened.

Include the original order reference if available. If it is not available, provide the correct public Instagram profile link so the team can identify the request. In the description, say that the UTR entered at checkout was incorrect and provide the correct UTR, payment amount, and approximate date shown in your payment app.

Keep the message about one transaction at a time. Do not include your UPI PIN, password, one-time code, full bank credentials, or unrelated account details. Keep the support reply and ticket number with the payment record.

If you have already contacted support about a missing order, add the corrected reference to that same request rather than opening multiple tickets. The order-not-showing guide covers the broader checks for payment and profile details.

When to contact your bank or UPI app

Contact your bank or payment app when the transaction itself is pending, failed, disputed, or still shows a debit that you cannot reconcile. A store can check an order against payment information it receives, but it cannot change the status shown by your bank.

NPCI's UPI FAQs explain how to check transaction history and when to contact your bank about a transaction. Use the bank or app's transaction record and follow the channel that applies to your payment issue. A bank complaint and a request to correct an order reference are separate steps.

If the app shows a successful payment and you only entered the wrong UTR on the store, first send the correct reference to store support. Do not report a successful payment as failed just because the store has not matched it yet.

Frequently asked questions

What if I entered the wrong UTR after paying?
Find the correct UTR in the transaction details and contact support about the original order. Do not pay again while it is being checked.

Does a wrong UTR mean my money is lost?
No. It means the store may not have matched the order yet. Check the transaction status in your UPI app and provide its correct reference to support.

Where can I find the UTR?
Open the exact payment in your UPI app's transaction history and view its details. Use the reference for that payment, not another transaction.

What if the payment is still pending?
Check the pending transaction in your bank or UPI app and follow its instructions. Do not treat it as confirmed by the store until its status is clear.

What information should I send support?
Provide the order reference or correct profile link, correct UTR, payment amount, and date. Never send a PIN, password, or one-time code.

Should I create a second order with the correct UTR?
No. Ask support to check the original order first so a second payment does not create another transaction.

Conclusion

A mistyped UTR can leave the store unable to match a payment to an order, but it does not tell you the bank transaction failed. Check the exact payment, send its UTR to support, and wait for the original order to be checked before paying again.

Contact support about the original order if the payment is successful but the order is not matched.
